FEEDING GUIDE

At Miss Nelly's, our jerky sticks are designed as high-quality treats made with real ingredients to reward and motivate your dog. Use them sparingly to maintain a balanced diet—treats should not exceed 10% of your dog's daily caloric intake. To estimate this, consult your dog's food packaging or veterinarian for their total daily calories (typically 20-30 calories per pound for adult dogs, adjusted for age, breed, and activity level). For instance, a 20-pound dog might require 400-600 calories daily, limiting treats to 40-60 calories.

Daily Recommendations

Based on your dog's weight, here's a visual guide of the suggested maximum number of jerky sticks per day. These are just guidelines; monitor your dog's weight and health, and adjust accordingly.

This chart highlights the proportional increase in treats as dogs get larger, emphasizing the need for tailored nutrition.

Key Notes

- Provide fresh water at all times. Treats can increase thirst, so keep water accessible.
- Break sticks into smaller pieces for training. This extends their use and prevents overfeeding.
- Supervise during consumption. Monitor to avoid choking or rapid eating.
- Special considerations: For puppies, senior dogs, or those with health conditions (e.g., allergies or obesity), begin with smaller amounts and consult a veterinarian.
